Department of La Paz
The La Paz Department of Bolivia comprises 133,985 km² with a 2001 census population of 2,350,466 inhabitants. It is situated at the western border of Bolivia, sharing Lake Titicaca with Peru. It contains the mighty Cordillera Real that reaches altitudes of 6.6 kilometers (4.1 miles). Northeast of the Cordillera Real are the Yungas, the steep eastern slopes of the Andes that make the transition to the Amazon basin. The department is divided into 20 provinces, and its capital is the city of La Paz, also the administrative capital of Bolivia.

City excursion:
CT1/CT2 – City Tour and the Moon Valley (Half Day & Full Day)
On pre-arranged time we depart from the hotel towards the Moon Valley (Valle de la Luna), a spectacular earth formation near the city, created by the wind and erosion of the area, we continue visiting the residential areas of the south part. We also visit the Killi Killi panoramic viewpoint, from here is possible to see a great part of La Paz; then we go to the calle Jaen, where is located the Gold Museum (Museo de Oro) that has a permanent exhibit of a collection of pieces made of gold by the Tiwanaku and Inca cultures.
Continuing our visit, we see the main square Plaza Murillo, where the government buildings are located, such as the Palacio de Gobierno, Senate and the Cathedral. Finally we go to the Indian and Witches markets, where we can make some purchases of souvenirs and maybe a lucky charm.

TW1/TW2 - Tiwanaku ruins
This visit will get us back to the past, it will be an encounter with the history of the Andean world and its traditions; Tiwanaku (around 3.000 BC), is considered one of the most ancient civilizations of South America and is located only 1 ½ hours from La Paz on paved road.
On the way we stop at Laja, a small village on the Altiplano, where La Paz was originally founded in year 1.548. In the archaeological area we visit the museum, temple of Kalasasaya, Sub ternary temple, their carved stone tenon-heads embedded in walls and of course the legendary Sun Gate.

TW3- Tiwanaku Ruins & Pariti Island
On pre-arranged time departure from hotel to the short side of Lake Titicaca (Huatajata), from the shore we take a local motorboat towards the Pariti Island (45min) “the new archeological discovery on Lake Titicaca”. The Aymara Empire, which governed the Andes for over a thousand years, has chosen these Islands for the elites, as a place for important and transcendental meetings. The new local museum shows the high artistic quality of the finest Tiwanaku ceramic pieces.
Afterwards back to Huatajata for lunch in a local restaurant. We continue our journey towards Tiwanaku; on the way we stop at the Lloco Lloco view point, where we can admire the Royal Mountain Range. This visit will get us back to the past, it will be an encounter with the history of the Andean world and its traditions; Tiwanaku (around 3.000 BC), is considered one of the most ancient civilizations of South America.

CO3- Copacabana & Sun Island (1 night 2 days)
DAY01. On pre-arranged time departure from La Paz to Copacabana located on the shores of Lake Titicaca. This picturesque and legendary town, from ancient days is and will continue to be an inevitable pass for the tourists from Peru and La Paz. In the morning we visit the town and the Church, where the famous image of the Virgin de Copacabana (Indian Madonna) is venerated. Afterwards with a motorboat we navigate to The Island of the Sun, on this legendary island we will visit some Inca ruins like Pilkokaina, last residence of the Inca in the “Sun’s Holidays”, from here we take a walk on a Inca trail (40 mins.) to our lodge, dinner and overnight.
DAY02. Breakfast and motorboat to the north part of the island, visit to the ruins of la Chincana labyrinth, Inca sacrifice table, the foot steppes of the Inti. Then short hike over Inca stone paved roads towards the fisher village of Challapampa for about 40min, we visit the town museum and afterwards back to Copacabana and drive back to La Paz.

CR2 – Coroico (1 night 2 days )
Day01 (La Paz – Coroico). We pick up passengers to visit the sub-tropical part of La Paz, the Yungas. The trip goes to the north until we reach Coroico. The trip goes through the world’s exciting roads and Bolivia’s diverse scenery for about 3 hours, crossing a mountain range of enormous masses of stone and rock, gradually descending to the sub tropic region. Arrivals at the hotel, time to walk around the area, have a pool afternoon or enjoy a soft drink with a spectacular view.
Day02 (Coroico – La Paz). After breakfast departure from the hotel, the jeep ride goes through a few Indian and Afro-Bolivian farmer villages, those farmers planting the traditional coca plant. We stop at Santa Barbara a small farm located only 11km from Coroico. Walk around the area, this place is amazing, it has waterfalls, a wild orchids garden, coca, coffee and citric plantations, wonderful and unforgettable impressive views. At lunch time we plan to offer the delights of the region with an amazing view of the Yungas. Afterwards back to Coroico and drive back to La Paz and the hotel (3 hrs).

Services on the Altiplano – Oriental Mountain Range area
ST2 – National Park Sajama (1 night 2 days)
DAY01. (La Paz – Sajama Park) On pre arranged time pick up from the hotel in order to get to the National Park Sajama. From the very first time our journey we will be able to observe the amazing landscape and there wildlife, also along the way there are a line of Chullpas to see, these are a line of burial towers along the Lauca River, used by the ancient cultures of Bolivia. After register us in the park we will continue towards the town of Sajama, on the way we have lunch.
Later on we will have a walk to the Bosque de Queñuas (Queñua Woods) and the hot springs of volcanic origin. After that we visit a lagoon where we can see vicuñas, flamingos, Andean ducks and other typical animals from the region. Arrival to the lodge, register then take a walk around the area. Dinner and overnight in Sajama in a private room with heat, bathroom and hot water.
Queñua Woods (Polyleis tarapacana): Are considered the mayor in extension of Andean woods in the world. They can get in the area of Sajama to the 3m high and in other places with a better weather conditions, like Lake Titicaca to the 6m.
DAY02. (Sajama – La Paz) After having breakfast we star our return trip to La Paz, on the way we visit the geysers area and the hot springs. We continue with our trip and the next stop is in the village of Curahuara de Carangas were we will visit there church so called “Sistine Chapel of the Altiplano”.
OPTIONAL - DAY2 Departure to get to the Chilean border, after that you continue in another vehicle.
